Trailwalker UK 2011
Paul Humphreys, a Best Practice member, has managed to twist the arms of three of his clients into signing up, some would say unwisely; to the 2011 Trailwalker UK 100 km challenge in order to raise money for two worthy charities, Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust. The course runs from Petersfield’s Queen Elizabeth Park to Brighton’s Race Course and they aim to finish within 15 hours, which means they’ll need to pull their socks up to get to the finish line in time!
For Paul and the team, the race begins at 6am on Friday 16th July. The team will all start and finish together and all members will attempt to complete the course within the 15 hours, running at an average of 6.6 kilometres per hour. The current record of 9 hours 50 minutes is held by the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistics Regiment, which is an average of around 10 kilometres per hour! Only 5 hours and 11 minutes to shave off!
Best Practice and Aspect8 are fully supporting this worthy endeavour and wish Paul and the team the best of luck. If you feel that Paul and his fellow runners deserve some sponsorship, please give generously at the BestPractice100k Virgin Money Giving site and for further information on Trailwalker UK, please visit http://www.oxfam.org.uk/Trailwalker.
